With its firm spring unit and generous layers of fillings the Elegance Orthopaedic Luxury divan set provides superior support and comfort. Several layers of white fibre fillings are combined with firm fillings to produce a supportive, yet comfortable sleeping surface. The mattress has been skilfully upholstered in a soft to touch woven fabric cover that is hand tufted for added strength and durability. The hand tufting process involves a series of tapes being passed through the mattress at regular intervals and secured on each side with a cotton tuft. This procedure not only secures the generous layers of white fibre fillings in place, it also pre-tensions the mattress resulting in a firmer feel. The spring system in the Elegance Orthopaedic Luxury is a 12.5 gauge open coil unit, one of the thickest wires used in mattress manufacturing. Its strong, durable and made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. The perimeter of the spring unit is strengthened by a thick, rod-edge wire that adds support to the border of the mattress. This allows you sleep right up to the edge without the sensation of rolling off. The mattress boasts 2 rows of hand side stitching; a labour intensive process that sews the pocket springs to the outside of the mattress border. The side stitched process provides total edge to edge support and prevents the border from bowing out and enhances the life span of the mattress. Supporting the mattress is a platform style, solid top faux suede divan base that gives your mattress a slightly firmer feel. It is offered with several storage options and in four base colours, natural, black, sand or cappuccino. You can also choose to have your divan base on standard castors or stylish silver glides.
