The cotton cover has a hand tufted finish that's achieved by passing tapes through the mattress at regular intervals and securing them on each side with a cotton tuft. This process ensures that the natural fillings are held securely in place, reducing the chance of upholstery movement that causes mattresses to go lumpy. The wool layer is a soft, yet supportive and breathable filling that retains its warmth in the winter months and displays its cool characteristics in the summer time. Cashmere and Silk fillings are extremely durable and generally found in high end mattresses to add a luxurious and comfortable feel to the mattress. Its spring interior is made up of a robust and extremely firm 12.5 gauge open coil unit that consists of hour glass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, also known as a helical wire. The perimeter of the spring unit is reinforced by a thick, rod-edge wire that adds support to the border of the mattress. This lets you sleep right up to the edge without the sensation of rolling off. Supporting the mattress is a platform style, solid top faux suede divan base.
