The mattress is substantially filled and is expertly tailored in a luxurious damask fabric cover that is hand tufted for added strength and durability. The hand tufting process pre-tensions the mattress and ensures the generous layers of fillings are held securely in place. Internally the mattress boasts pressure sensitive pocket springs, each housed within its own fabric compartment. This ensures the load on one spring is not affected by the one next to it. The springs provide piston-like support to each part of the sleepers body, resulting in a spring system that directly supports at the point of contact. The spring system is not affected by varying weights and body shapes allowing the pocket spring interior to contour perfectly to your individual body shape. The perimeter of the mattress features 2 rows of traditional hand side stitching; a labour intensive process that sews the pocket springs to the mattress border. The side stitching procedure strengthens the border of the mattress and provides total edge to edge support. It also prevents the side panels from collapsing and enhances the life span of the mattress. Completing the divan set is a platform style, solid top base that is specifically designed to give the mattress a slightly firmer feel.
