With standard double size mattresses measuring 135cm x 190cm, the Nicole Traditional Pocket 2000 Ikea size double mattress from Deluxe Beds is wider and longer at 140cm x 200cm. Generously filled at 27cm deep, the Nicole Traditional mattress enjoys a fusion of pocket springs that are totally independent, hypo-allergenic fillings and a hand tufted damask cover. Hand tufting pre-tensions the mattress by inserting nylon tapes through it at regular intervals and securing them on both sides with a cotton tuft. The benefit of the hand tufting process ensures the layers of fillings are held in place and also results in a firmer sleeping surface. The interior of the mattress features totally independent extra firm pocket springs, each housed in its own cloth sleeve so the load on one spring is not affected by the one next to it. The pocket springs provide piston-like support to each part of the sleepers body, resulting in a spring system that directly supports at the point of contact. The spring unit is not affected by varying weights and body shapes allowing the pocket spring interior to contour perfectly to your body shape. The border of the mattress boasts 2 rows of hand side stitching; a labour intensive process that sews the pocket springs to the perimeter of the mattress. The side stitched process provides total edge to edge support and prevents the border from bowing out and enhances the life span of the mattress. Like all dual sided mattresses, the Nicole is required to be rotated from head to toe and flipped over to even out the wear and tear on the mattress.
