The mattress has a depth of 26cm and features a layer of natural latex. It is expertly tailored and upholstered in a knitted stretch fabric cover with a hand tufted finish. The hand tufted finish is achieved by passing nylon tapes through the mattress at regular gaps and secured on each side of the mattress by a cotton tuft. Latex is naturally hypoallergenic and does not provide a habitat suitable for sustaining the life circle of the dust mite or bed bug. The foundation of the Savoy Latex mattress is its spring system; a robust open coil spring unit thats made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. The mattress border is strengthened by a thick, rod-edge wire that helps to avoid border breakdown and allows you the full width of the sleeping surface. As the mattress is one-sided it does not need to be flipped over, but does still require to be rotated from head to toe on a regular basis.
