At 31cm deep, the Renaissance Pocket 3000 mattress is generously filled and features a unique two-tier pocket spring system, a knitted stretch fabric cover and a hand tufted finish. The hand tufting process pre-tensions the mattress by inserting nylon tapes through it at regular intervals and securing them on both sides with a cotton tuft. The advantage of the hand tufting procedure is it ensures the layers of fillings are held securely in place and results in a firmer sleeping surface. The foundation of the mattress is its two-tier 3000 pocket sprung interior where a layer of mini pocket springs rest upon standard size pocket springs. Each pocket spring is placed within its own individual cloth compartment, so the load on one spring isnt affected by the one neighbouring it ensuring no roll together. The pocket springs provide piston-like support to each part of the sleepers body, resulting in a spring system that directly supports at the point of contact. The spring system is not affected by varying weights and body shapes allowing the pocket spring interior to contour perfectly to your individual body shape. An additional feature is its 2 rows of traditional hand side stitching; a labour intensive process that sews the turns on the pocket springs to the border of the mattress.
