At 31cm deep, the Renaissance Pocket 3000 mattress is well filled and features a two-tier pocket spring system, a knitted stretch fabric cover and a hand tufted finish. The hand tufting process pre-tensions the mattress by inserting nylon tapes through it at regular intervals and securing them on both sides with a cotton tuft. The benefit of the hand tufting procedure is it ensures the layers of fillings are held in place and also results in a firmer sleeping surface. The foundation of the mattress is its two-tier pocket sprung interior (3000 in a king size) where a layer of mini pocket springs rest upon standard size pocket springs. Each pocket spring is placed in its own individual cloth sleeve so the load on one spring isnt affected by the one next to it ensuring no roll together. The pocket springs provide piston-like support to each part of the sleepers body, resulting in a spring system that directly supports at the point of contact. The spring system is not affected by varying weights and body shapes allowing the pocket spring interior to contour perfectly to your body shape. An additional feature is its 2 rows of hand side stitching; a labour intensive process that sews the turns on the pocket springs to the mattress border. The side stitching process provides total edge to edge support and prevents the side panels from bowing out. It also enhances the life span of the mattress.
