Its outer cover is attached to the surface layers in a deep quilted diamond pattern to ensure the fillings are held securely in place and provide a smooth sleeping surface. At the core of the mattress is a strong open coil spring interior that is made up of hourglass shaped springs set in rows and connected into one unit by a spiral helical wire. A thick 6 gauge rod-edge wire is attached to the perimeter of the spring system. This prevents breakdown of the border and ensures the interior retains its shape throughout its lifespan.
