Designed to suit European and IKEA size bed frames, the Elizabeth from Shire Beds is made up of sturdy open coil springs, generous fillings and a quality damask cover. The Elizabeth mattress benefits from a hand tufted finish, a process that passes tapes through it at regular intervals and secures them on both sides with a cotton tuft. Its generous layers of white fibre fillings are hypo-allergenic, creating an ideal sleeping environment for allergy sufferers and asthmatics. Strong and robust, its interior is made up of hourglass shaped open coil springs set in rows and connected into one single unit by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. Additional perimeter support is added to the unit by attaching a thick 6 gauge rod-edge wire to the spring system. This ensures the interior retains its shape and prevents border breakdown.
