Manufactured in the UK by Highgrove Beds, the Pearl is a 4ft small double mattress that offers a traditional orthopaedic support and is upholstered in a hard-wearing hand tufted damask cover. The hand tufting process is achieved by passing tapes through the mattress at regular intervals and securing them on both side sides. This pre-tensions the mattress and offers a firmer feel. The foundation of the Pearl mattress is its 12.5 gauge open coil spring system, one of the firmest wires used in mattress manufacturing and is extremely durable. Open coil interiors are made up of rows of hourglass shaped coiled springs, connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. For added border strength, a thick rod-edge wire is fitted to the perimeter of the mattress. This allows you sleep right up to the edge without the sensation of rolling off.
