The Savoy Latex mattress offers a medium and comfortable support, thanks to its combination of open coil springs, a layer of natural latex and a soft to touch knitted stretch fabric cover. The mattress has a hand tufted finish, a series of tapes passed through the mattress at regular intervals and secured on both sides with a cotton tuft. The benefit of hand tufting is it pre-tensions the whole of the mattress ensuring the fillings remain firmly in place and reduces the chance of upholstery movement. The layer of natural latex adapts perfectly to the shape of your body and helps to align your spinal column, whether you lie on your side or your back. Latex is hypoallergenic, aerated to improve airflow, extremely long lasting and will retain its comfort properties throughout its lifespan. The foundation of the mattress is its spring system; a robust open coil unit thats made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. The perimeter of the spring unit is strengthened by a thick, rod-edge wire that adds support to the border of the mattress. This lets you sleep right up to the edge without the sensation of rolling off. The mattress is designed to be one-sided and does not need to be flipped over, but still requires to be rotated from top to bottom regularly.
