The open coil springs are set in rows running from head to toe and assembled into one single unit with helical wires that join the coils at the top and bottom to form a sturdy unit. Edge-to-edge support is provided by the addition of a heavy gauge rod-edge wire that is attached to the top and bottom of the finished construction for extra strength and durability.
