At the core of this mattress is a traditional open coil spring system. The spring unit is made up of rows of coiled springs that are linked into one single unit by fitting a spiral wire at the top and bottom. A thick rod-edge wire is then fixed around the perimeter of the spring unit. This gives edge to edge comfort across the full width of the sleeping surface; prevents border breakdown and ensures the mattress retains its shape.
