The tufts secure the outer cover to the surface fillings, creating a firmer sleeping surface and minimising the risk of upholstery movement. At the mattress core is a robust open coil spring system. It is made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs that are linked into one single unit by using a spiral wire at the top and bottom. A thick rod-edge wire is then fixed around the top and bottom of the spring unit. This offers edge to edge comfort across the full width of the sleeping surface; preventing border breakdown and ensuring the mattress retains its shape. The spring system is nestled between generous layers of fibre fillings to ensure the highest levels of comfort and support. Supporting the mattress is our faux suede Astro divan base; a solid platform top design that gives your mattress a slightly firmer feel.
