To reduce the risk of fire, Crib 5 mattresses must adhere to strict BS7177 medium hazard safety regulations to ensure they are resistant to a naked match flame and cigarette smoulder. Its waterproof cover ensures no spillages or liquids will pass through it, whilst its breathable properties allow air to circulate freely, resulting in a cool and fresh sleeping surface. Hypo-allergenic fillings within the mattress create an ideal sleeping environment for allergy sufferers and asthmatics, whilst its open coil spring interior offers a comfortable and medium support. Open coil interiors are extremely robust and set out in rows of springs running from head to toe and connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. To ensure a firm border and provide additional edge support, a heavy gauge rod-edge wire is attached around the perimeter of the finished spring system.
