Crafted with support in mind, the Chatham set from Shire Beds Ortho Collection combines robust open coil springs with layers of orthopaedic fillings to create a firm sleeping surface. Featuring air vents and flag-stitched handles, the mattress is upholstered in a quality damask cover with a macromatic quilted panel design that provides a smooth and flat surface. Its foundation is made up of a 12.5 gauge open coil interior. The coils are constructed into one single unit with helical wires joining the springs at the top and bottom to form several rows. To prevent border breakdown and further strengthen the unit, a thick rod-edge wire is attached to its perimeter springs. This ensures it retains its shape throughout its lifespan. Please note, this is a dual sided mattress and will need to be flipped over and rotated on a regular basis. This process will even out wear and tear for long-lasting support and comfort. The mattress rests upon a platform style divan base that comes with a variety of storage options and a choice of castors or sliver glide feet.
