Rubberwood is extremely popular with furniture and cabinet makers as its one of the more durable hardwoods used today and unlike softer woods there is very little shrinkage. Despite its name, rubberwood does not bounce or stretch; the name is a reference to the parent tree (Hevea Brasiliensis) also known as the Para rubber tree. The walnut stain applied to the bed frame is extremely hard wearing and not only protects the timber, it also brings out the warm and natural beauty of the woods grain.
