Its hardwood frame is sourced only from sustainable forests and is taken from the brasiliensis tree, better known as the rubber tree that is grown in tropical locations. The beauty of hardwood is its durability. It possesses superior bending qualities, finishes well and resists moisture retention. These properties make it extremely popular with furniture makers. The bunks have wooden slatted bases to provide the mattresses with extra support, whilst 4 guard rails and a fixed ladder are fitted for additional safety. When required the bunks can be split into two full size single beds, both with a high headboard and lower footboard.
