The Shire Source 5 is made up of a matching set that combines a robust platform style, solid top base and a durable mattress that offers a medium support. At the core of the mattress is a 13.5 gauge interior made up of rows of open coil springs assembled into one single unit with spiral helical wires that join the coils at the top and bottom. To offer enhanced strength and support to the finished unit, a heavy gauge outer rod-edge wire is fitted around the top and bottom of the perimeter springs. This additional edge support allows you the use of the full width and lets you sleep comfortably right up to the edge of the mattress without the sensation of rolling off. The mattress is designed to be dual-sided and requires to be flipped over and rotated on a regular basis for long-lasting comfort.
