The spring interior system used is a 12.5 gauge open coil unit, one of the firmest and thickest wires used in mattress manufacturing. The open coil spring system is robust, durable and made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, also known as a helical wire. The perimeter of the spring unit is reinforced by a thick, rod-edge wire that adds support to the border of the mattress.
