The Rennes mattress enjoys a blend of totally independent pocket springs, layers of hypo-allergenic white fibre fillings and a luxury hand tufted damask cover. Hand tufting is a process where a series of tapes are passed through the mattress at regular intervals and secured on both sides with a cotton tuft. This process secures the generous layers of fillings and pre-tensions the mattress. The result is a firmer feel and ensures the fillings stay in place. The interior of the mattress features totally independent pocket springs, each in its own fabric pocket so the load on one spring isnt affected by the one next to it. The springs provide piston-like support to each part of the sleepers body, resulting in a spring system that directly supports at the point of contact. It is not affected by varying weights and body shapes allowing the pocket spring interior to contour perfectly to your body shape. The spring count of 1000 is based on a king size. A labour intensive side stitched process is applied to the mattress perimeter and sews the pocket springs to the mattress border. The process of side stitching provides total edge to edge support, prevents the side panels from bowing out and enhances the lifespan of the mattress. To take care of the mattress it is required to rotated from head to toe and flipped over on a regular basis. This evens out the wear and tear and also extends its lifespan.
